1 About Local Car Sales and the Operator

Local Car Sales is a vehicle listing search index operated by Website Designer Derby (trading as CarDealerCMS), a business based at 47 Western Drive, Heanor, Derbyshire, DE75 7DP. References to "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to Website Designer Derby.

Local Car Sales is a search and information service only. We are not a car dealer, motor trader, finance broker, auctioneer, or intermediary. We do not hold, buy, sell, or take any financial or legal interest in any vehicle listed on this site.

2 What This Service Provides

Local Car Sales provides a searchable index of vehicle listings that have been published publicly by UK motor dealers on their own websites. We present this information as a convenience to help members of the public discover available vehicles from local dealers.

Use of Local Car Sales is free to the public. You do not need to register an account to search or view listings.

3 Accuracy of Listing Information

Listing data on Local Car Sales is sourced automatically from publicly available dealer websites and is updated periodically. We cannot guarantee that any listing shown is:

• Currently available for sale — vehicles may have been sold since indexing
• Accurately priced — prices may have changed since the listing was last indexed
• Accurately described — specification details are as published by the dealer

We strongly recommend that you verify the availability, price, and specification of any vehicle directly with the selling dealer before travelling to view it or entering into any financial commitment.

4 Your Relationship With Dealers

Any enquiry, negotiation, or transaction regarding a vehicle is solely between you and the selling dealer. Local Car Sales is not a party to any such arrangement and has no involvement in, or responsibility for, any transaction.

Vehicle History and Write-Off Status

Local Car Sales does not carry out vehicle history checks, write-off checks, or finance outstanding checks on any listed vehicle. Listing information is sourced from dealer websites as published and may not reflect a vehicle's full history. We make no representation as to whether any vehicle:

• Has been written off (CAT A, B, C, D, N or S)
• Has outstanding finance secured against it
• Has been stolen or is the subject of a police marker
• Has an accurate or genuine mileage reading
• Has a full or accurate service history as described

Before purchasing any vehicle, we strongly recommend you obtain an independent vehicle history check from a reputable provider (such as HPI, Experian AutoCheck, or the DVLA) and never rely solely on information shown on Local Car Sales or on a dealer's own listing.

Finance Offers

Some dealer listings indexed by Local Car Sales may reference finance options, monthly payment figures, or other financial promotions. Local Car Sales is not a credit broker, lender, or financial services provider and plays no part in any finance arrangement. Any finance offer shown is that of the dealer or their finance provider and is reproduced as published — we do not verify, endorse, or take any responsibility for:

• The accuracy or currency of any finance figures or representative APR shown
• Whether the dealer or their finance provider is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
• The suitability of any finance product for your circumstances
• Any terms, conditions, or costs attached to a finance offer

If you are considering financing a vehicle purchase, you should obtain independent financial advice, check the dealer's FCA authorisation at register.fca.org.uk, and satisfy yourself fully as to the terms before entering into any credit agreement. Finance agreements are contracts between you and the lender — Local Car Sales has no involvement.

Trade and Private Sellers

Listings indexed by Local Car Sales may relate to vehicles being sold by either trade dealers or private sellers. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, trade sellers are required to make their trader status clear in any advert. Local Car Sales is an index of publicly available listings and we do not verify or warrant the trader or private status of any seller. You should satisfy yourself as to the seller's status before entering into any transaction, as your legal rights differ depending on whether you are buying from a trade or private seller.

Before Purchasing

Before purchasing any vehicle found through Local Car Sales, we recommend you:

• Verify the dealer's identity and legitimacy independently
• Obtain an independent vehicle history check (HPI, Experian AutoCheck, or similar)
• Have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic
• Confirm the seller's trade or private status
• Understand your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
• Never pay by bank transfer or cash to an unknown party without full verification

5 Acceptable Use

By using Local Car Sales you agree that you will not:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes any third party's rights
• Attempt to copy, harvest, or systematically extract listing data for commercial purposes without our written consent
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Deliberately submit false reports of inappropriate content to disrupt legitimate dealer listings
• Use the service to facilitate fraud or any criminal activity

6 Intellectual Property

The Local Car Sales website design, logo, and underlying platform are the property of Website Designer Derby. Vehicle listing content (descriptions, images, specifications) remains the property of the relevant dealer or their agents.

We assert database rights in our index by virtue of substantial investment in compiling and maintaining it. Systematic extraction of our database for commercial purposes is prohibited.

7 Content Moderation and Removal

We actively moderate our index to remove listings that are illegal, offensive, fraudulent, or otherwise in breach of our content standards. See our Listing Data Policy for full details.

If you believe a listing on Local Car Sales is inappropriate, please report it to [email protected]. Dealers wishing to remove their listings should refer to our Listing Data Policy.

8 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Local Car Sales is provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose
• We exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this service
• We are not liable for any loss arising from a vehicle transaction between you and a dealer
• Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation

9 Links to Third-Party Sites

Local Car Sales contains links to dealer websites and other third-party sites. We have no control over those sites and accept no responsibility for their content, privacy practices, or availability. A link on Local Car Sales is not an endorsement of the linked site or business.

10 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Your continued use of Local Car Sales after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from your use of Local Car Sales shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
